Crawfishing
2 July 2022Akosa hosted a volunteer event to remove invasive crawfish out of Topanga Creek. Ben and I went and set our eyes on bright red flashes in the water, lured them in a net, and kept on walkin’. In a little over an hour we had caught about 60 between the two of us. It’s estimated that 4,000 crawfish would need to be removed each month to balance things out, oof. The caught critters were then frozen and sent to animals in refuge to snack on.
